An Industrial engineer who is passionate about environmental conservation, he joined the NE&C team in 2017; he has over 10 years of experience in the development and implementation of quality and environment management systems, process analysis and reengineering, project management, process analysis of automation projects using computer systems, both in financial services companies and in production.
A Costa Rican national, Katya has worked in her country with multiple conservation projects. As a child, she demonstrated her interest in the environment, was trained in Biology and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development with honors at the University of Costa Rica. She has been working as an environmental consultant for the last 15 years, founding her own company in 2011, where she has worked as a Biological Regent in conservation projects with birds and sea turtles. She has worked as a consultant for the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Costa Rica on the CITES issue, for the Costa Rica Office of the United Nations for Project Services (UNOPS), for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and for the World Bank. Katya joined NE&C in 2017, actively working on research and development of a global certificate that can propose new alternatives for conservation and sustainability within the global economy.
Manuel joined NE&C in December 2017, attracted by his passion for nature. For more than 10 years he worked in a family SME, in charge of the Operations and Bidding areas. During school he volunteered in non-governmental organizations related to the subject of housing. Upon arriving at the University, he became involved in volunteer programs at Parque Nacional and other conservation areas, working on volunteer campaigns in Tapantí and Arenal, among others. Manuel has experience in project management and has a bachelor in English literature, a technician in business administration and is completing a Master’s Degree in Project Management. He is currently in charge of payment management and market intelligence in NE&C.
Daniel, a Costa Rican national, is passionate about science and technology and has 18 years of professional experience in which he worked as software developer for 11 years and 8 years as an solutions architect. He joined NE&C in 2017, as he was attracted by the conservation of biodiversity and species, proposing the development of new technologies for conservation purposes.
Daniel, de nacionalidad costarricense, gran apasionado por la ciencia y la tecnología, posee 18 años de experiencia profesional de los cuales, se desempeñó como desarrollador de software 11 años, y 8 años como arquitecto de soluciones. Se unió a NE&C en 2017, atraído por la conservación de la biodiversidad y las especies, proponiendo el desarrollo de las nuevas tecnologías con fines de la conservación.
Passionate about marketing and communications, she graduated in communications, with a degree in Media Production; studied Advertising Design, Audiovisual and Radio Production. She has also been a university professor. Despite her profession, Melisa was always linked to volunteer work, and committed to building a better society. Since 2009 she is linked to the Anna Ross Foundation, in 2014 she formally joined as a Coordinator ad honórem, a role she currently holds, helping women in their fight against cancer. She joined NE&C in 2017, where she strengthens her passion for the conservation of nature, biodiversity and species. Melisa is in charge of the Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Advertising area of NE&C.
Originally from Argentina, she joined NE&C in November 2017. As a lawyer and a specialist in international taxes, Jennifer has always worked actively in the defense of animal rights, collaborating with the Bar Association Animal Rights Commission in the City of Buenos Aires, where she trained professionally. In 2015 she moved to Costa Rica to work with the animal aid refuge at the Refugio de Guadalupe. Currently Jennifer is dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity and species in various parts of the world. Her collaboration is not only based on her profession as a lawyer, but she is also actively involved in helping emergency communities and, together with her family, she founded a shelter for pets in the city of Santiago del Estero.
Mauricio joined NE&C in 2017 following a career in Project Strategy, where he lead a rapid growth and transformation in businesses from different sectors of a diverse range, starting from an Economic concept where the Conservation of Nature is the most important factor. He specialises in Telecommunications Administration from the University of Monterrey, and has experience in different Stock Exchanges, Teletransmission Projects and Tourism Companies and Sustainable Services.
